What is here
558 rows: 305 containers and 253 closures. 246 PET and 59 glass, from 30 to 976 mL with a median of 118.
PET and glass only
No HDPE and no PP. The archetype excludes opaque plastics, which is right for a drink sold partly on how it looks in the bottle.
By family
88 PET Boston rounds, 48 PET imperial bullet cosmos, 47 PET packers, 35 glass Boston rounds, 13 PET cylinder rounds and 9 PET modern rounds.
The median is 118 mL
Which is well below the main archetype window of 240 to 1,000. The depth here is at the small end, and a 500 mL juice bottle is a narrower choice than the headline number suggests.
There is no crown finish
The archetype says "crown or CT closure" and the catalog answers only the second half. For a carbonated or bottle-conditioned drink a crown is the format, and that is a glass supplier and a crowner.
And no tamper evident band
A beverage is expected to show it has not been opened. Nothing on this shelf provides that, which for a retail drink is a genuine gap rather than a preference.
What the 18 lug and twist closures are for
A food jar finish, and the nearest thing here to a hot-fill closure with a proper seal. For a pasteurised juice in glass they are worth looking at rather than defaulting to continuous thread.
How to shop it
Regime first, then fill temperature, then material, then neck. The fill temperature is the filter that removes most of the PET for a hot-filled product.
The glass is doing specific work
59 containers, 35 of them Boston rounds. They are there for hot fill and for a long shelf life, which are the two jobs PET does least well in this category.
