Nine colors and thirteen lids

On this page11
91 of 251 are clear. Which is most of the reason this shelf works for sorted parts.

There are nine colors on this shelf

91 clear, 47 white, 32 amber, 26 black, 24 natural, 15 blue, 9 green, 5 frosted and 2 dark amber. Clear is the largest single group by a wide margin.

Clear is doing specific work for a sorted set

A tray of identical jars is unusable without either a clear wall or a label on every lid. Ninety one rows mean the first option is available across most of the capacity range.

White and natural together are 71 and they are the opaque default

Natural means unpigmented polypropylene, which is translucent rather than opaque, and white means pigmented. The practical difference is whether a strong light shows a silhouette of the contents.

Amber and dark amber are 34 rows and they exist for light

Nothing in this group is light sensitive in the way an essential oil or a tincture is, so for a notions buyer those 34 rows are simply 34 fewer clear ones.

Black at 26 is the one color that is harder to use here

It gives no view of the contents and no silhouette, so every jar needs a mark. For small identical parts that is a labeling job on top of a storage job.

The closure side has thirteen families and one of them is most of it

179 of 288 are a continuous thread polypropylene lid, which is the plain screw cap. Then 42 metal or aluminum CT caps, 22 PP dome lids, 17 metal lug or twist caps, 9 sealing discs, 6 PE round tub lids and 5 phenolic style caps.

Six further closure families carry two rows or fewer

Lip balm tube cap, metal overshell lid, plug seal lid, deodorant lid, tamper evident lid and dairy lid. These are the tail of a catalog built for other purposes and they are on this shelf because they fit a neck finish that is on this shelf.

Neck finishes concentrate on two wide ones

56 at 70-400 and 56 at 89-400, then 36 at 58-400, 16 at 53-400, 14 at 18DIN and 12 at 48-400. Nineteen of the 251 containers record no neck finish at all.

The recorded dimensions are in inches and they have gaps

Height runs 0.5 to 6.745 inches with a median of 2.5, and 14 rows record none. Diameter runs 0.617 to 4.625 inches with a median of 2.85, and 31 record none.

A diameter near 2.85 inches is wider than it is tall

Which is the jar geometry the category count already implied, and it is the right shape for reaching in. It is also why these stack poorly in a drawer and well on a shelf.

The Davis Pack Supply catalog, measured 19 October 2026. 539 rows on this shelf: 251 containers and 288 closures. Capacity 5 to 500 mL with a median of 177, and every one of the 251 carries a capacity. Three materials only: 117 PET, 78 polypropylene, 56 glass. Four categories: 210 jars, 27 bottles, 12 tubs and pails, 2 tubes. Twenty five container families, the largest being PET Single Wall Jar at 101 and eleven of them holding a single row, and eighteen subcategories, the largest being Single Wall Jars at 127. This is the store-small-dry shelf and nine use case groups draw on it identically.
Written from 16 CFR part 423 and from the catalog as it stood on 19 October 2026. Part 423 is the Care Labeling Rule and it governs the permanent care label on textile wearing apparel and certain piece goods; it does not govern notions, and nothing here says it does. Nothing here states what temperature any particular notion tolerates, what instruction any garment may carry, or that any container is suitable for textile storage in any regulated sense. This shelf is shared identically by nine groups and this property is where it is enumerated in full.
