The label

On this page9
Three obligations and one brand on a 100 mL cylinder.

What has to be on it

The California ingredient disclosure with its toll-free number and website address, the manufacture date or a code for it, the net contents, and whatever directions and cautions the product needs.

Plus a space for the variable mark

Which is the part people forget. A clear, flat area that a coder, a stamp or a sticker can reach, designed in rather than found afterwards.

The sprayer eats the bottle

A fine mist pump with an overcap occupies a real fraction of the height, and the label cannot run under the shoulder. The usable panel is smaller than the bottle suggests.

Which argues for a back label

Front for the brand and the scent name, back for the disclosure, the directions and the date area. On a clear bottle a back label is read through the liquid, which is legible if the type is sized for it.

Alcohol runs down the outside

Every time it is used. The adhesive and the face stock have to survive that, which is the same lesson the grooming and spirits properties reach from different directions.

Scent name is not a claim

Calling something Fresh Linen is fine. Saying it eliminates bacteria is not, and the two sit three inches apart on the same label, which is how the second one gets added.

Proof it on the filled bottle

With the sprayer fitted, the liquid in and the date code applied. The flat artwork cannot show you what the curve hides or what the liquid does to the back label.

A clear bottle means the back label is read through the liquid

Which changes the type size you need and the colour that works. Tinted or coloured product shifts it again, so proof it with the actual liquid rather than against white.

The Davis Pack Supply catalog, measured 18 October 2026. The air and fabric shelf is 652 rows: 413 containers and 239 closures, from one archetype across five leaves. 356 PET and 57 glass, from 30 to 946 mL with a median of 200. The closures include 34 fine mist sprayers and 19 trigger sprayers, and 24-410 carries 192 of the containers.
Written from 40 CFR 59.203 and 59.205, and from the catalog as it stood on 18 October 2026. The VOC limits quoted for air fresheners come from search results rather than from Table 1 itself, which would not serve to us, and every page that uses them says so. Confirm them against the current table before setting a formula.
