Midway between the shoulder seams

Placement rules in this library are usually written loosely
Principal display panel, conspicuous, readily visible, easily found. The drafting leaves the manufacturer to work out where that is on a particular package.
This one names an anatomical landmark
Each wool product with a neck must have a label disclosing the country of origin affixed to the inside center of the neck midway between the shoulder seams.
With one alternative, also specified by location
Or in close proximity to another label affixed to the inside center of the neck. So the second label may be elsewhere only by being next to a first one that is in the specified place.
And it goes further, down to a side of the label
The country of origin disclosure must always appear on the front side of the label. Other required information may appear on either side, provided it is conspicuous and readily accessible.
Which separates two kinds of required information
Origin is pinned to a position and a face. Fiber content and the company name or registered identification number may be on the same label or on another conspicuous and readily accessible label, inside or outside the garment.
Products without a neck are treated normally
On all other wool products the required information is disclosed on a conspicuous and readily accessible label or labels on the inside or outside of the product. The specificity exists because a neck exists.
The durability requirement is a third horizon for this library
The label must be of such durability as to remain attached to the product and its package throughout any distribution, sale, resale and until sold and delivered to the ultimate consumer.
Resale is named explicitly, which is unusual
Most container rules need a label to last until the package is empty. The care labeling rule needs one to last the useful life of the product. This one runs to delivery to the ultimate consumer and counts a resale along the way.
And the label may be required on the package as well as the product
A label is required to be affixed to each wool product and, where required, to its package or container in a secure manner. Which is one of the few places in this library where a package and a product carry the same label.
With a package-level substitution for one product class
For hosiery, a label need not be affixed to each item in a package if the items are intended for sale in that package, the package carries the required information, and the information is equally applicable to each product inside.
