The shelf

What is here
1,096 rows: 659 containers and 437 closures, derived from four archetypes across six leaves. Capacities from 5 to 7,571 mL.
By material
389 PET, 190 HDPE, 73 glass and 7 PP. PET leads because the small half leads, and the small half is sprayers.
By family
122 PET Boston rounds, 80 PET packers, 70 PET imperial bullet cosmos, 59 glass Boston rounds, 30 PE cylinder rounds, 46 HDPE packers across two spellings of the family name, and 19 PET cylinder rounds.
And the bulk end
41 containers at 950 mL or more. That is the real answer for a detergent, a softener, a powder or a booster, and it is a short list rather than a deep one.
Which is worth knowing before you plan a range
Four of the six products in this category live in those 41 containers. If the plan is a full line of bulk products in distinct packaging, the distinctiveness has to come from the label rather than from the bottle.
The bulk end nearly was not there at all
49 containers published their capacity as "1 gallon" and the parser matched abbreviations, so "gallon" never matched "gal". Every F-style jug, industrial round, pail and carboy carried no capacity, and a container with no capacity cannot match any window. Fixed at the root on 17 October 2026; the bulk half went from 23 containers to 41.
How to shop it
Decide wet or dry, then bulk or small. Those two questions cut 659 containers down to a list you can read, and every other filter is easier after them.
Why the shelf is this shape
Four archetypes feed it and three of them are small-format. Only the pour and bulk types reach above a litre, and between them they account for the 41. The median of 177 mL is not a judgment about the category; it is an arithmetic consequence of which products sit on which archetype.
