Returns and cancellations
Last updated October 4, 2026.
We drop-ship from our supplier's warehouse, and a return has to be accepted back by that warehouse before we can refund it. So this policy is written to what they will actually take. We would rather tell you the real terms now than agree to something at checkout and argue about it later.
The short version
You have 30 days from delivery to tell us you want to return something. It has to go back in full, unopened cases, in resalable condition, and there is a 20 percent restocking fee. Return freight is yours.
Full cases only, and why that matters here
We sell by the unit. Our supplier accepts returns only in full, unopened case quantities.
That gap is real and you should understand it before you buy a part case. If you order 5 of something that comes 24 to a case, those 5 cannot be returned. Not at a fee, not at a loss. There is nowhere for them to go.
Buy a part case when you want to try something or when a part case is genuinely what you need. If you are buying to hold stock and you might want to send some back, buy full cases.
Time limits
Tell us within 30 days of the delivery date. Email info@daviscontainers.com or call (208) 806-8367 with your order reference and what you want to return.
If we approve it we will send you a return authorization. The goods have to be shipped back within 14 days of that authorization. After 14 days the authorization lapses and the warehouse will refuse the delivery.
Condition
Returned goods must be unused and in their original, unopened cases, in condition fit for resale. A case that has been opened to take out a few units is not resalable and will not be accepted.
The restocking fee
20 percent of the goods value. This is our supplier's fee and we pass it through at cost. We do not add anything to it.
Return freight
You pay it, and you arrange it. We will tell you the address when we issue the authorization.
Glass is the exception and it is not negotiable: glass must come back as a pallet shipment. Glass returned by UPS or FedEx will be refused on arrival, and at that point the goods and the freight are both lost. If you are returning glass, ask us and we will tell you what the pallet arrangement needs to look like.
What cannot be returned at all
Clearance items. Special order and non-stock items, meaning anything brought in for you rather than taken off a warehouse shelf. Part cases, as above. Anything that has been used, filled, labeled or decanted.
Canceling an order
Before it is picked, cancellation is free. Tell us as soon as you can and we will stop it if it has not moved.
Once it has shipped it is no longer a cancellation, it is a return, and the 20 percent restocking fee and return freight both apply.
Because we check stock and place orders at the moment you pay, the window is shorter than you might expect. Usually it is hours rather than days.
Damage in transit
Packages leave the warehouse meeting the carrier's requirements. Damage that happens after that is a carrier matter and the claim goes to the carrier.
Tell us anyway, the same day if you can, and keep the packaging and the damaged goods exactly as they arrived. Photographs taken before anything is moved are what decide these claims. We will help you file, but we cannot refund freight damage ourselves and neither can our supplier.
Shortages and wrong items
Different thing entirely, and our problem rather than yours. If a case is short, or you were sent the wrong item, tell us within 5 business days of delivery. We will correct it at our cost, including freight, with no restocking fee.
Refunds
Once the warehouse receives and inspects the return, we refund the goods value less the 20 percent restocking fee, to the card you paid with. Original outbound freight is not refunded, because it was already spent getting the goods to you.
Sales tax on refunded goods is refunded with them.
Allow a few days after the warehouse receives the return. Card refunds then take whatever your bank takes, which is usually 5 to 10 days.
